Biography
Formally known as ガゼット [Gazette ~
pronounced Gazetto], the GazettE
formed in March 2002 under the visual indies label 'Matina'. There were five members back then, as
there are now, but there was one big difference:

On 30th April 2002, Gazette released their first single Wakaremichi and continued releasing a number of amazing songs, including Doro darake no seishun and Juunana sai, throughout the year. As well as this, after taking part in various lives throughout the year, Gazette held their first one-man in October 2002 ~
However, on 21st January 2003 Yune sadly announced he was leaving the band, despite his amazing talent as a drummer and the band's ever-growing success. Fortunately it didn't take Gazette long to find a replacement and Kai joined as their new drummer on 1st February 2003, subsequently becoming the band's leader. On 1st March 2003, exactly one month after Kai had joined the band, Gazette signed up to PS Company: the current record label of Miyavi, Kagrra,, alice nine., Kra, SuG and SCREW and past label of bis, Devil christ 13 and Hanamuke ~ some of my favourite bands ^0^. On 6th May 2003, Gazette performed live with Hanamuke and together they released Dan Jiri Tour Final Haifu, a cd that they gave to their fans for free during their live [aren't they nice ~ <3] The cd had two songs on it: re-recordings of Hanamuke's song Yuubinya san and Gazette's song Machibouke no kouen de.... During the year Gazette also performed alongside Deadman and Vidoll as well as appearing with Vidoll on the front cover of the music magazine Cure. On 28th December 2003, alongside Merry, D'espairsRay, Gullet, Miyavi, Deadman, Daigo☆Stardust, MUCC, Kra and Pink halleluja, they performed in the Beauti-fools Fest '03, an event organised by the magazine 'Fool's Mate'.
On 16th January 2004 Gazette performed their first recorded one-man which was released as the dvd Judgement day on 28th April 2004. The same day, alongside their dvd release, their official fanclub "HERESY" started ~ I wanna join >w< Their mini album Madara was released on 30th March 2004 and reached number 2 on the Oricon indies charts [wooooh!!]. From 28th September to 17th October 2004, Gazette toured with Kra and bis in the 'Tribal Arivall tour'. Afterwards, on the 13th October 2004, they released their first full length album Disorder which appeared at number 5 on the Oricon charts [uber-yayness!!].
On 20th October 2005 they released their first photobook Verwelktes Gedicht, the first edition including the song Kare Uta. Then, from 11th to 22nd December 2005, participated in PS Company's tour "PEACE & SMILE CARNIVAL TOUR 2005" alongside Miyavi, Kagrra,, alice nine. and Kra.
In 2006 Gazette decided to change their name to 'the GazettE' in order to create a more appealing logo for the band. They released their second full album, NIL, on 8th February and played their first concerts outside of Asia on 29th and 30th July at the manga and anime convention AnimagiC in Bonn, Germany.
On 4th July 2007, their third full album STACKED RUBBISH was released. The album included the song Chizuru which is featured in the movie Apartment. Then, from 20th to 30th October 2007, they came back to Europe for their first European tour "STACKED RUBBISH Pulse Wriggling To Black 1.5" performing in Germany, France, England [on my birthday ^0^ But I was in Japan ><] and Finland. And hopefully they'll be coming back very very soon *coughpleasevisitLondonagaincough* XDD
The song Guren, as well as the actual band XD, appeared in the commercial for the jeweler GemCEREY which you can find on youtube or somewhere ^^ It features them wearing rings, all except Ruki who's also wearing a necklace and earrings >w<
Over the years it's become increasingly obvious that the GazettE's fanbase is becoming more and more widespread and that they're becoming more and more successful in everything they do ~ so ganbatte to the Gaze~boys and I hope they'll keep up the amazing work that never ceases to whisk us away into Gaze~heaven ^w^
